What Is Secured E-Mail?

At Weizenegger-Engel Insurance and Primary SourceSM Insurance, it is very important to us to ensure your personal information is kept safe and protected when an e-mail containing sensitive information is sent from us. 

All e-mail leaving has a risk of being intercepted. Secured e-mail greatly reduces this risk by protecting the content of the e-mail during transmission and requiring intended recipients to authenticate their identity before opening messages.

Opening a Secure Message

When you receive a secure message, the heading and from fields are visible as usual, and it will look similar to this when opened in your mailbox: 

Open/View the attachment SecureMessageAtt.html to launch a browser or click the link to open it on a mobile device. 

A browser will open and you should click the “Click to read message” button. 

Registering with Proofpoint Encryption

The first time you receive a secure message, you will be prompted to register with Proofpoint Encryption, otherwise you will be taken directly to the log-in screen. 



Fill in the fields and click Continue. 

Logging In

When you click to open a secure message, you will be prompted to log in to Proofpoint Encryption. 

Reading Your Secured Message

The reply and reply all options are available in an opened message. When replying to the sender, this message will be sent back securely.

Note: While sent securely, a W-E Insurance or PSI employee should not have to log in to view a reply.

To forward a secured message, open the e-mail, copy its contents, and paste into your own e-mail to send to additional recipients. Note: This message will not be secured by the secure e-mail system and its contents are the responsibility of the sender. 

Attachments in a secured message will show in the heading area and can be opened by clicking on the attachment title. 

To save an opened e-mail, click save as and store the e-mail as you wish. 

Click Logout when you are done. 

Forget Your Password

If you forget your password, click the Forgot Password link. You will receive a non-secured e-mail with a link in it shortly thereafter. Click the link to re-register and reset your password.
